Athletics - South Leinsters

Congratulations to all the athletes who won 34 medals on Friday last at the South Leinsters, bringing the total medal win to 56 medals over the two days.

There were some outstanding performances and near records broken. The U.17 boys relay team missed out on a new record by 0.3 sec and Daniel O Donoghue nearly broke the mile record on the track also. Well done to all involved.

Many of these athletes now go on to compete in the Leinsters next Saturday in Santry. The following are the results:
GOLD MEDALISTS - 200m U.16 Aileen Kyne, 400m U.17 Robert O Conor, 100m U.17 Sam Murray, Long Jump U.17 Sam Murray, Mile U.16 Daniel O Donoghue, U.17 4*100m Relay team Sam Murray, Robert O Conor, Gary Burns, Darragh McConville.


SILVER MEDALISTS - U.16 4*300M Relay Team Aileen Kyne, Melissa Lyons, Shannon Brogan, Muireann Kavanagh, U.16 4*300m Relay Team Ralph H-O-Dwyer, Brett Cella, David Scully, David Rigney, 200m U.19 Sarah Goldrick, 100m Hurdles U.19 Fiona Dunne, 100m Hurdles U.17 Darragh McConville, Long Jump U16 Brett Cella, U.16 Long Jump - Muireann Kavanagh, U.16 Mile Melissa O Donoghue, U.19 4* 100m Relay Niall O Brien, Diarmuid Carr, Conor Buckley, John Higgins.


BRONZE MEDALISTS - 200m U.16 Ralph H-O-Dwyer, 100m U.19 Diarmuid Carr, U.19 4*100m Relay Jenny Goggin, Sarah Goldrick, Emma Madigan, Orla Kelly, U.19 discus Alan Nolan.
