Junk Kouture Competition. The aim of this national competition
was to make a couture outfit from materials or junk that was no longer fit for their original use. Two groups of Ty students submitted photographs of their designs and both were picked to appear at the semi-finals at the Killashee House Hotel on Sunday 20th of March. Over 80 entries from Leinster were whittled down to 15.
One design called – ‘Rose Bows and Puzzle Pieces’ made by Niamh Jordan and Joyce Reilly has been selected for the All Ireland Grand Final which will take place in the Grand Ballroom in the Burlington Hotel Dublin on the 17th of April. To vote for the girls in the final go to http://www.junkouture.com/participents.php?cid=63 and place your vote.
This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity to showcase their design which has been made from old jigsaw pieces, roses sweet wrappers and a lot of patience. Closer to the date there will be an opportunity to vote and support the schools entry – a link will be added to this piece and we would appreciate your vote. We wish the girls lots of luck and hope they will have a fantastic experience. We may even see them in the press or on Exposè.
