Irish Debating

Hard luck to our senior Irish debating team who were marginally

defeated by the Tipperary schools on Tuesday 21stFebruary in Athy. Well done to the students who did their very best. We’re very proud of you. Roberta Ruttledge used a  lovely style in her speech and really engaged the crowd, Aoife Keane had very strong points and excellent research done and Evan had the entire room amused by his sense of humour and certainly brought something different and fresh to Gael Linn debating.  The Irish dept and Gael Linn highly commend these students, maith sibh.
They had a challenging motion to debate against ' Is maith an rud é go bhfuil deireadh ag teacht le cultúr an tí tábhairne'  It's a good thing that pub culture is coming to an end.
