After a very poor start where Newbridge conceded three tries without a response The Kildare boys gradually clawed their way back into the match and by midway into the second half the scores were level at 17 points all.
Billy Scully lead the way and surely after this display he deserves a place on the A team.
Craig Grant also showed the way with some great breaks from the outhalf position. The team was captained by Kevin Callan who gave his all to the cause. Unfortunately for Newbridge Tempelogue rallied in the last quarter of the game and managed to breach the Newbridge line one more time with a final score of 24points to 17.
The Under-13 A’s played Templeogue at home on Wednesday. Within minutes of the start of the game Newbridge were in front with the opening try coming from Matthew Madigan. Shortly afterwards Billy Delaney crossed the line for the first of his three trys in the match. Unfortunately the game was over as a contest by half time with further trys coming from Brian Hayden, Jack and Ivan Briody, Billy Dardis and Jack Coughlan Murray. The second half was also dominated by Newbridge who ran out comfortable winners in the end. Newbridge play Roscrea for a return fixture on Wednesday 5th December.
