The new bridge College community came together and over the course of a week managed to raise over €4,000 for the Irish cancer Society. The fundraisers consisted of a variety show; staff shave or dye campaign and raffle.
The annual variety show always chooses a charity to donate fund s to and this year it as the turn of the Irish cancer society. The variety show plays host to some of the best talent the college can put forward and this year was no exception with some outstanding performances. The by now annual chance for the students to have a good laugh at the teachers expense in the shape of the teacher act also proved very popular. The TY boys were also prepared to make fools of themselves with a colourful modern dance routine!
The raffle that coincides with the show each year also attracted a lot of attention with the top prize being an ipad2. There were also prizes donated by Jerry Conlan, Newbridge Silverware and Hartes Bar and Grill Kidare.
Six members of staff also put their names forward for the Today FM Shave or Dye campaign: Mr. Andy Doyle, Mr. Eoghan Evesson, Miss Caroline Mahon, Mr. John Joyce, Miss Karen Smythe and Mr. Derek Sherlock.
The colours were bright and he humiliation total but as the campaign slogan states – you never look stupid fighting cancer.
Many thanks to all involved in raising a lot of money for such a worthy cause!
