Leinster Senior League SCT v St Gerard’s Bray
The Senior Firsts continued in the League this week as they hosted St. Gerard's of Bray.

A good start was followed by a mediocre at best second half.  Despite holding the lead until midway through the first half the visitors controlled the game and built on a first half lead to run out 38-12 winners.

The Senior Seconds took on the same opposition.  An entertaining and hotly contested game saw the lead change a number of time but it would be the Wicklow team who would eventually be victorious.  Greg O'Neill scored first but a try and a penalty saw Gerard's lead at the break 8-5.  The second half saw O'Neill cross first again but two converted tries from the visitors pushed them into a commanding lead.  O'Neill crossed for his hat-trick following some very positive team play and Dan Caulfield converted to cut the deficit to 5.  But even with 9 minutes of the game left, try as they might, the College just couldn't break the Bray side's defense and St. Gerard's ran out 22-17 winners.

Leinster Junior League JCT v St Gerard’s Bray
We welcomed St Gerards to the Colleve for our 4th Junior league match and were eager to continue our perfect start to our campaign. An early mistake almost cost us dear, but we managed to keep our line in tact. However, Gerards were in control and eventually the pressure told and they took a deserved 7:0 lead. We tried to get a foothold in the game and respond positively. On three separate occasions we went through multiple phases only to give up a turnover just when we were about to score. A couple of minutes before halftime, we finally made the breakthrough when Donal Conroy took a great line off a well worked backline play. Sam Cahill converted for 7:7 which was the halftime score.
We started the 2nd half really well and we scored two tries. First Cormac King broke through the defensive line to get close and then Conor McGroary crashed over after a fine show of strength. Then we released our backline and Marcus Kiely touched down. Sam Cahill converted one kick for a 19:7 lead. St Gerards then scored to leave us with a 5 point lead with 10 minutes to go. We suffered a harsh yellow card which made the task more difficult but managed to hold out for a fine win.

Inters v Kilkenny College
The Inter A's suffered their first loss of the season against a powerful Kilkenny side on Wednesday. The final score was 24-19 with Kilkenny coming back from 14 down. Tries were from Zia Ahmed, Hugh Prendergast and Ben Watson with Sam Prendergast converting two of them. Best for Newbridge were James Sheedy, Luke Gorman and Andrew Rynne.

The Inter B team got back to winning ways on Wednesday last away to Kilkenny College. Newbridge were again quick off the mark this week and unlike previous occasions, were able to maintain the advantage throughout. An injury to Adam Johnson broke momentum after Newbridge had crossed for two tries in the opening quarter. Kilkenny regrouped and struck back with a try of their own in the corner. Newbridge were better in defense this week and five tries from man of the match Brian Murphy helped seal the win. Harry O’Neill was near flawless from the boot to finish the opening term with another win. Best on the day were; Max Breen, David Heffernan, Ciarán Mulvey, Patrick Treacy & Brian Murphy.

Eller A v Pres Bray
The Eller As hosted Pres Bray on Wednesday last in their last game before midterm break. The first half was an open affair, with both defences under pressure. The home side scored tries from Sam Mulrooney, Zack Zebedee and Harry Farrell but still went in 9 points down at half time as the Pres number 8 and inside centre caused all sorts of problems. A half time positional switch saw Tom Bohane moved from full back to centre to shore up the home defence. The hosts had the better of the second half and tries from Kieran Kelly, Calum Corcoran and a second from Mulroney saw us claim a tight victory. Final score Newbridge College 32 - 29 Pres Bray.
