TOP STORY

At time of print, we were on the cusp of the Senior Cup 1st Round match v CBC Monkstown… hopefully we had a good day!  Juniors start on Monday v St Gerards!  Let the games begin!!

RUGBY
Gonzaga College SJ were the visitors to Ellers on January the 29th. Three games took place with similar scorelines in all.  The Cs went into battle and proved too pacy and powerful for their opposition. All panel members played their part in a total team effort with Harry Jones (tackling), Sam White (attacking play), Jack Morrin (support play) and Liam Kelly (work rate) the standout performers on this occasion. Final score: 40-5

The B's mixed their play well against a good side. Backs and Forwards linked well, creating and attacking space with speed resulting in some excellent scores. Leading the way in the back-line were Donnacha Kinch and Jody Flanagan with Gearoid Scanlan and Vaughan Ryan the pick of a hard working forward pack.Final score:46-14

The A's got off to quick start against a well coached and organized Gonzaga side. They mixed their plays and patterns well with both hard narrow carrying and wide attacking play on view. Lots of the team put in eye catching displays built on a group appetite for work and collective improvement. Best on the day were Paddy Waters, Ben O'Connor, Sam O'Loughlin and Conor Hanly. Final score: 45-5.  Next up is CBC Monkstown Park (away) on Wednesday February 5th.
