Hockey has traditionally been the major sport for the girls of Newbridge College. Approximately 175 girls play hockey with 9 teams participating in the Leinster Leagues and Cups . Training is run every afternoon from 4pm – 5pm with each team working with a dedicated coach. Allthough we strive to compete at the highest level in the Leinster Leagues primarily our Hockey is based on having fun , meeting friends and enjoying an extra curricular activity outdoors in a safe and carefree environment. All of these elements enrich students experience of school and the memories of Hockey stay with them long after they leave.
Newbridge College won the Senior 1 Schoolgirls Leinster League in 2009/2010 season. Many of our Past Pupils play in The Leinster League Senior Division. Ciara Conaty 6th year made the Leinster u16 team in 2010 . Many of our students are sent each year for u16 and u18 Leinster Trials. With the advent of our new Astro Turf Pitch we would hope to produce many Representative players in the future.
