Welcome to the Newbridge College website. I hope you enjoy your visit and that it gives you a sense of our ethos and culture as well as an update on the many and varied College activities. I am grateful to all who have contributed to the site and in particular Mr. Neville Conroy (photography) and Mr. Brian Howard who designed and maintains the site.
Newbridge College was founded in 1852 by Dominican friars and it is still attached to a Dominican priory and under the care of the Dominican Fathers. It is a co-educational day school and strives to give a broad and balanced education to all students who pass through its doors. It offers students opportunities to excel both inside and outside the classroom. A friendly atmosphere permeates the College and all partners are committed to developing the full range of talents and abilities of all students.
Newbridge College is proud of its Catholic ethos in the Dominican tradition and it aims to support parents/guardians in their responsibility for the development of their children. Opportunities are given to all students to foster development of the spiritual, academic, cultural, sporting and caring needs. Self-esteem, tolerance for others and a respect for the less fortunate are values that are promoted within our College. All of us have a part to play to ensure our ethos is lived out on a daily basis.
Our vision is that our College continues to deliver the best education it can and also that it affords our students opportunities to succeed in their chosen careers. We encourage our students to be ambitious and we strive to ensure that learning and teaching is a positive experience for all.
We can point to many past pupils who have excelled and continue to excel in Church life, in politics, in the arts, in business and in sport; we are proud of all our past pupils and we rejoice in them.
