School Musicals

Newbridge College boasts a proud tradition of hosting an annual musical.  Each year staff and students alike spends months of time and labour preparing, perfecting and presenting their efforts.  The School Musical truly is a whole school event with input emerging from the whole school in all areas of the show including directing, music, producing, props, costume, art design and make up to name just a few.  Students from 1st, 2nd, TY and 5th year are all eligible to audition for the show.  The annual musical has proven to be very popular indeed with more auditioning than we could ever hope to facilitate.  The Cast for each year’s show runs to 150 students approximately – which results in an absolute feast of colour and song for the eyes and ears.  Our musical productions take place towards the end of November running for three nights; playing to a full theatre.  As a College we are quite fortunate to have a magnificent theatre at our disposal which has recently laid stage to Oklahoma ’02, Grease ’03, Little Shop of Horrors ’04, Disco Inferno ’05, Boogie Nights ’06, High School Musical ’07 & The Totally Wicked Wizard of OZ '08.
