Difficult trip to Clane

Our Senior 4th started their fourths league with a difficult trip to Clane to take on Clongowes. We played really well as conditions were pretty poor for rugby but went down by 14 points to 5.

The Under-13 A’s played their first match of the New Year against Terenure on Wednesday. A tough game was expected and Terenure certainly didn’t disappoint. Within five minutes Newbridge got their first score with a try and conversion from Billy Dardis. Terenure were quick to respond with a try of their own which they failed to convert. The score remained 7-5 to Newbridge up to half time despite Terenure being camped on the Newbridge line before the half. In the second half the Terenure pressure was converted into two converted trys which gave them a 19-7 lead. Nine minutes from time Newbridge got another try through Billy Delaney but it wasn’t enough to see off a strong Terenure side to give the Under-13 A’s their first defeat of the season. Newbridge play The King’s Hospital next Wednesday.
