RUGBY
The highlight of this week’s news was undoubtedly our Junior Rugby team’s away league win in Roscrea.
A great win which puts them right in the hunt for semi-final qualification. The final score was 20 : 12.
The Seniors travelled to Byrd Ave in Dublin to take on C.U.S. in the league. We scored a try after a few minutes through Sam Coghlan-Murray. We then seemed to lose our way and found ourselves 8 5 behind fifteen minutes later. We regained the lead just before half time and made easy work of the second half to run out 36 : 11 winners. This sets up a mouth watering tie against C.B.C. Monkstown next Wednesday in Newbridge, the later having recorded five wins out of five so far.
Other results: Senior 2nd 22 CUS 10; Under-16 A 3 CUS 32; Inter A 20 Kilkenny 9; Inter B 29 Kilkenny 14; Inter C 25 Kilkenny 25; Eller A 43 CUS 5; Eller B 47 CUS 7; Eller C 37 CUS 5.
